Most restaurants have separate kitchen areas for baking, cooking, and food preparation. However, some commercial kitchens have integrated all these areas into a single space so that the employees working in different areas don't face any problem while preparing the food or while serving the food. In such a case, separate appliances are required for the cooking and food preparation. Depending on the type of business you have, you may require separate appliances for your cooking area and for the food preparation area. Apart from these, there are separate utensils, racks, cooking grids, cooking shelves, and dish pans that are used for food preparation.

Kitchen appliances can be classified into three main categories as per their nature of use. These categories are food preparation, cooking, and storage appliances. The categories enable you to maintain the functionality of your appliances according to their intended purpose. However, sometimes it may become difficult to maintain all your appliances in all the categories at the same time. Therefore, the best way is to maintain the functionality of each category of commercial kitchens at a minimum level.
